Miletus: Documentation Manual, v2

The new version of the Miletic Documentation Manual was published today. You can access the handbook under DOI 10.25592/uhhfdm.11389 in the University of Hamburg's research data repository. Print versions are available to the excavation staff in Miletus.

In addition to new resources such as a tool for reformatting coordinate lists for the Field Desktop database, the manual now contains:

• separate and more detailed sections on the database and surveying (by Lisa Steinmann, based on work by the team at Berliner Hochschule für Technik)
• additions to the find processing procedure (original concept and text by Sabine Huy, additions by Fabian Sliwka)
• a companion to the database's pottery form (by Fabian Sliwka)
• references to the excavations online resources
• in addition to German and English, all forms are now also available in French
• the current pdf-export of the Bibliographie
• and a detailed glossary of terms for photogrammetry and building surveying in German, English and Turkish, created in the context of the DAAD-Sommerschule 2022! (by Duygu Göçmen, Michael Breuer, Marko Koch, Monika Lehmann, and Christof Berns)
